The PA-28-150 and PA-28-160 Cherokees were introduced in 1961 and were powered respectively by 150 or 160 hp engines. Subtypes included the PA-28-140, PA-28-151, PA-28-161, PA-28-180, PA-28-235 and the PA-28-236. The 'Cherokee' prefix was finally dropped for the Archer II and Warrior names, and later versions were known simply as, Warrior II (PA-28-161), Dakota (PA-28-236), and Turbo Dakota (PA-28-236T). British Airways Flying Club, owned and operated by British Airways, began life as Airways Aero Club in 1947 and it is one of the oldest flying clubs in the United Kingdom. Initially established for Airline staff, the Club is now one of the largest in the country and is open to all. The club's airfield, Wycombe Air Park, has been used for the been the backdrop for many movie and advertising flying sequences including "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines" and "Aces High." The Club's current fleet consists of a DHC-1 Chipmunk, a PA-23-250 Aztec E, seven PA-28-161's, a PA-28-236 Dakota and a PA-38 Tomahawk. We are featuring the Club's PA-28-161 fleet after receiving several requests and custom model commissions from club members. Crew :
