Launched in 1980, the de Havilland Dash 8 is the most successful regional airliner in the world with over 400 in service. Canadian designed and built, the twin-engine medium-range transport aircraft was designed for Air Mobility - moving personnel and supplies for military operations. It is also the training aircraft of choice for the Canadian Forces Air Navigation School, 17th Wing based at Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Newer models of all Dash 8 aircraft carry the Q designation (for Quiet) and are equipped with advanced noise and vibration suppression  technology that makes them the quietest and most vibration-free turboprop aircraft in the sky thereby setting previously unknown standards of passenger comfort that approach those of jet aircraft.
