Although certified as a light jet aircraft, flown by a single pilot, the Premier 1/1A features a medium jet sized cabin which comfortably accommodates six passengers (plus two crew). 

The first prototype flew December 22, 1998 and FAA certification was issue March 23, 2001.  The upgraded Premier 1A received certification on September 22, 2005.

Constructed from carbon fiber composites, the Premier IA business jet program established Raytheon Hawker Beechcraft Aircraft as the world leader in composite technology for general aviation aircraft. Composite technologies have a positive effect on operating costs. The carbon fiber fuselage resists aging and corrosion; minor damage is considerably cheaper and easier to repair.
